Pro Position: Argue that enhanced security measures, including surveillance and data collection, are necessary to protect against cyber threats and ensure national security.
Debate Structure:
Opening Statements: Each team presents their position (3 minutes per team).
Rebuttals: Each team responds to the opposing team’s arguments (2 minutes per team).
Open Floor Debate: Teams engage in a moderated discussion, presenting additional points and counterarguments (10 minutes).
Closing Statements: Each team summarizes their key points and final arguments (2 minutes per team).
Research and Evidence:
Use evidence from the textbook, as well as additional credible sources, to support your arguments.
Cite all sources in APA format.
Evaluation Criteria:
Content and Argumentation (40%): Strength and clarity of arguments, use of evidence, and understanding of ethical and legal issues.
Debate Skills (30%): Ability to articulate points clearly, respond to counterarguments, and engage in respectful discourse.
Teamwork (20%): Collaboration and coordination within the team.
Research and References (10%): Quality and relevance of sources, proper citation in APA format.
