Critical Essay Part 2 With Secondary Research (Total 100 points)—
Submit a college-level paper of 4-5 full pages (in addition to the Works Cited page). Any late paper will be penalized a letter grade/day late. The paper will be evaluated according to the English Department’s rubric. You must use at least one primary source and three scholarly sources (a minimum of four sources total). Each should be found in the DBU library and previously submitted with an appropriate précis. All documentation must conform to MLA guidelines. Research will be used to support your argument, to show you are aware that others disagree with your position, or to expand your understanding of your topic. The final copy of the critical paper will be submitted electronically to Turnitin.com. (The online librarians stand ready to help you find solid sources if you need them.)

I begin my paper with religious hypocrisy and the rationality behind it. Throughout my paper, I argue that all four themes (religious hypocrisy, familial betrayal, emotional deception, and naivety) are clearly seen in the play Tartuffe. Both poets are dissatisfied with the realities of a world with a shallow perspective. So, they develop their own perspectives on life using the beauty of nature. Each poet uses their own forms of imagination to view nature and their figurative language shows their perspective shifts.
