I have started this essay so if you can help me finish it, it would be greatly appreciated. See attached.
Instructions:
I want you to choose a topic that has something to do with unhoused individuals or homelessness and write an expository essay. I define this very loosely so that you can choose something that is interesting to you. It can be any where in the world, during any time period, and for any reason. Here are some possibilities:
What happens to individuals when they suddenly become homeless due to a natural disaster such as a major fire (Paradise, Maui -Lahaina, etc), tidal wave, hurricane, earth quake, etc.. I want you to choose just one disaster and research it – not do a general expose, but choose a specific event.
What happens/is happening to individuals who become homeless due to a war?
What is happening in your own community about homelessness.
How is the cost of living effecting the uptick in homelessness?
How is the lack of mental health services effecting homelessness?
As I said, these are just examples – I am very flexible as to what you choose to write on.
You must use at least 2 sources, but no more than 3.
One of the sources must come from a data base at Mendocino’s Library. Read the Expository essay pointers page for the instructions on how to access and use the library data bases.
Your essay should be around 700 words, but not more than 1000.
You must use MLA format and include a works cited page.
