The purpose of this project is to provide the student with an opportunity to identify and analyze the QSEN
Competencies with the research finding by applying them to practice.
Each student will write an APA formatted scholarly paper that is 4-5 pages in length (does not include the title and reference pages). The paper should be a summation of the selected QSEN competencies applied to the research and how the findings impact practice.
This paper is a professional paper and should be written as such with correct spelling, grammar, punctuation
and citations. APA format is double spaced and use only Ariel or Times New Romans font size 12 and included
headings; refer to the template. Intext citation (references) are required. Paraphrasing is used and research
results require an in-text citation (reference). Do not use direct quotes.
Introduction section: write an introduction to your paper that will include including what you are
going to be discussing. Include why this topic is important to research. (1 paragraph).
QSEN section: list and describe the multiple QSEN competencies that you selected that are related
to the research topic. Each selected competency should be well defined indicating your understanding of the
competency; refer to your on-line QSEN module. (1 paragraph)
Review of Literature (Background) section: describe the research that has already been done
related to the topic. Identify if the current research will add to or refutes the current knowledge or help to fill in
any gaps or missing links for the topic. Include the author(s) purpose statement or goals of the research.

Research Results section: describe how the research results found in your article impacts care using
specific data from your article. Identify any weakness or bias that might impact application of the findings.

impact care. Include specific ideas on how you can incorporate the research results to change or modify your

others. Give specific examples of how best to disseminate the research results. (1-2 paragraphs) *Reference

Conclusion section: you will summarize your personnel thoughts of the research and its application
